From ATL to Texas: Real Training, Real Growth, Real Results

From June 19–22, Purple Dragon Atlanta traveled to Cypress, Texas for the second leg of the 2025 U.S. Inter-Dojo Tour—a high-energy weekend of team bonding, real training, and fierce competition.

Our warriors kicked off the journey with a fun and uplifting adventure at Urban Air, followed by a powerful training session led by Shihan Liselle Griffith and Sensei Amir Jaima at the Cypress Dojo. But the real highlight? A competition that brought out the best in our students—and left no doubt that Purple Dragon ATL came ready.

We offer our deepest thanks to our incredible hosts:

  • Shihan Liselle Griffith
  • Sensei Amir Jaima
  • Sensei Jinhai Yang
  • Sensei Juan Marquez
  • The families and warriors of the Purple Dragon Cypress Dojo

Your hospitality, leadership, and Purple Dragon spirit made this experience unforgettable.

Our PDATL Family Standing Strong and United in Texas

Every warrior stepped onto the mat with a powerful force behind them—a village of parents, siblings, and supporters who made the journey and stood ringside. Our PDATL family represented with unwavering energy—traveling together, cheering loudly, and embodying the true spirit of the Purple Dragon lifestyle.

United by the Purple Thread

In Cypress, Texas, Purple Dragon Atlanta and our Texas family came together as one—bound not by geography, but by purpose. What connected us wasn’t just the uniform or the kata—it was the Purple Thread that runs through every student, instructor, and Dojo around the world.

We trained side by side, supported one another in competition, and celebrated every victory together. In that room, there were no strangers—just warriors on the same path, upholding the legacy of Don Jitsu Ryu with pride and discipline.

This is more than martial arts. This is unity. This is family.

“This is Purple Dragon—united by the Purple Thread.”
