// QUESTIONS
Frequently Asked Questions
What ages are best for the youth program?
Our Tiny Tots program welcomes children as young as 4, and our Young Warriors program serves ages 7–12. Both are structured to meet children exactly where they are developmentally.
Is this safe for beginners?
Yes. Our instructors are trained to teach age-appropriate techniques in a controlled environment. Safety, discipline, and proper form are always prioritized before any contact activities.
How often should my child train?
We recommend at least two sessions per week for consistent progress. Students who train more frequently tend to develop focus, discipline, and skill retention faster. We offer 2x/week, 5x/week, and unlimited options.
Do you offer trial classes?
We do not offer trial classes. Instead, every student begins with a $50 Private Assessment—a one-on-one evaluation that allows us to understand your child and place them in the right program. The assessment fee is credited toward enrollment when you join within 7 days.
Does my child need prior experience?
No prior experience is necessary. Our programs are designed to welcome complete beginners while also challenging students who have trained before. Every child starts where they are and progresses at their own pace.
What should my child wear to class?
For the assessment and first few classes, athletic wear that allows full range of motion is acceptable. Once enrolled, your child will receive their official Purple Dragon uniform as part of the Warrior Starter Bundle.
How does the belt ranking system work?
Students progress through colored belt ranks (white, yellow, orange, green, blue, purple, red, brown, black) based on skill development, knowledge, and character. Gradings are overseen by Purple Dragon International with examinations conducted by Grandmaster Professor Don Jacob.
Is martial arts safe for young children?
Yes. Our instructors are trained to teach age-appropriate techniques in a controlled environment. Safety is our priority—we focus on discipline, control, and proper form before any contact activities.
